Meet the Doctors of

Classic Direct Primary Care

Our doctors are Board Certified in Internal Medicine and have years of experience in both the clinic and hospital setting.  We are ready to take complete care of you, from the sniffles to preventative care to long-term management of any health condition.

Eric Robach, MD was born in St. Joseph, Michigan and was raised in Snellville, Georgia.  He attended the University of Georgia and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in biology in 1997.  He attended the Medical College of Georgia on a full merit scholarship and graduated at the top of his class in 2002.  He completed his internship and residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and was awarded the outstanding senior medical resident award in 2005.  He was selected and served as a chief resident in 2005-2006 and subsequently practiced hospital-based medicine in North Carolina from 2006 through 2010.  In August of 2010 he moved back to Georgia to reduce travel time to Sanford Stadium (and to begin private practice with Hawthorne Medical Associates).

Dr. Robach has been married to his beautiful bride since 1997 and they have three boys that keep them busy.  His hobbies include working outside as much as possible, playing and coaching basketball, and of course taking care of his goats.  Dr. Robach and his family have attended Athens church for the past 10 years.

David Townsend, MD is a native of Augusta, GA, and obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a double-major in biology and psychology.  He pursued his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, graduating in 2005 at the top of his class with a 4.0 average.  David completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC, and was selected to be an Assistant Chief of Medicine following graduation from residency.

David remained on the Internal Medicine faculty at Wake Forest University until 2013, when he and his growing family moved to Athens, GA to be closer to family.  He has been practicing Internal Medicine here in Athens since then.  He is also an Associate Professor of Medicine with the AU/UGA Medical Partnership, where he teaches clinical skills to medical students.

David has a beautiful wife and four amazing children, and loves spending time with his family.  David and his family also have four dogs and two cats, and serve as a foster home for dogs in need of adoption.  They are active members at Watkinsville First Baptist Church.  David has a special interest in nutrition and fitness, and also loves sports and coaching youth sports (particularly basketball).
